Broom was founded in 2020 with no huge aspirations. They were just a group of friends who wanted to jam together and maybe play some shows. However, once the core lineup of Race Michener (vocals), Bodie DuBreucq, Ben Filak (both guitar), Caleb Beichner (bass) and Carter Stasicha (drums) was set in stone, the band realized they had something special in their hands. With influences ranging from 60s classic rock to modern progressive metal, the band’s tone has grown into an incredibly unique yet accessible arena rock sound.
Even being relatively new to the music scene, Broom has already played incredible venues like Jergel’s Rhythm Grille, the Crafthouse, and The Funhouse at Mr. Small’s. They have opened for noted acts such as The Reb Beach Band, Bon Journey, Blacktop Mojo, and many more. Fans have adored the group’s covers along with their original songs. Broom’s rocking version of “Come Together” by the Beatles always gets crowds involved in the show, which has always been a goal of the group. The crowd is a part of the show just as much as the performer, and Broom recognizes that.
Just because their covers are so electrifying doesn’t mean that their originals aren’t fun, though. “Back on the Road” and “Hourglass” are both fast paced songs found on the band’s debut EP, now streaming on your favorite music service. Designed to catch the ears of the audience, all of Broom’s songs have quickly become earworms.
Broom is only beginning and they have far to go. They are currently recording their first full-length studio album, but they don’t expect it to be their last.
