Artist: Moonshine Jasmine
Format: Digital
Catalog ref.:
When a wise band once said “What a long strange trip it’s been”, Moonshine Jasmine felt that. Frontman, Megan Pennington has been making music for the masses since 2014, searching for that “sound” that she could only create in her dreams. From recording contracts, to packing up her life into her Kia Soul, Megan sought out that sound for years. After meeting Tyler Feathers, she realized she found it. After some touring and growing, they went from a 3-piece acoustic trio to your favorite Blues Rock band, featuring Alex Wisniewski and Ben Osmond. The 4-piece team brings a powerful thunderstorm of true grit and passion. Taking inspirations from Janis Joplin, The Black Keys, The Eagles, and more, Moonshine Jasmine has crafted a refreshing wave of Blues Rock unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Lyrics
V: Well I had a 20 dollar bill
Destined for the tank
You told me that you needed your fill
So I went and broke the bank
I used to wear flowers in my hair
Until you said “That’s lame”
But now I see you sittin’ over there
With your ol’ box of rain
C: Well I think it’s awful funny to say
Do no harm, take no shit
When baby, you’re the source of it
I got these clothes that suit this weather
Nothin’ bout you is gettin’ better
Thank God, Thank God he’s gone
Thank God, Thank God he’s gone
V2: Well he tried to tear that building down
It only cost his hair
But ol’ girl knew about that clown
And his bucket home over there
As the Grateful used to say
There will come a day
Where I’ll dance on your grave
Cuz I don’t have to crawl no more
C: Well I think it’s awful funny to say
Do no harm, take no shit
When baby, you’re the source of it
I got these clothes that suit this weather
Nothin’ bout you is gettin’ better
Thank God, Thank God he’s gone
Thank God, Thank God he’s gone
V: He walks around with his nose in the air
Broken promises, but he don’t care
All that matters to him is that you left
Plays the card out without any shame
But this ain’t the first time she played the game
The whole world can see right through him
C: So turn on the gaslight, turn on the grooves
Baby boy just wants to show you the blues
Cuz he made em all by himself
Yeah he made em all by himself
Well you’re never right, he’s never wrong.
That’s why I’m here singin’ this song
Once a prick, always a narcissist
Yeah, Once a prick, always a narcissist
V2: When you make your own bed, lay in it
That’s the noble thing to do.
He wouldn’t know the first thing about that
I hope you’re ready to feel two feet tall
Here he comes, he don’t care at all
Afterall, he’s the victim here
C: So turn on the gaslight, turn on the grooves
Baby boy just wants to show you the blues
Cuz he made em all by himself
Yeah he made em all by himself
Well you’re never right, he’s never wrong.
That’s why I’m here singin’ this song
Once a prick, always a narcissist
Yeah, Once a prick, always a narcissist
B: Gaslighter, Vampire, He’ll suck you dry
Victim Blame, Play the game, it’s all in good fun
C: So turn on the gaslight, turn on the grooves
Baby boy just wants to show you the blues
Cuz he made em all by himself
Yeah he made em all by himself
Well you’re never right, he’s never wrong.
That’s why I’m here singin’ this song
Once a prick, always a narcissist
Yeah, Once a prick, always a narcissist
V: Like the strike of a match,
the fire burned bright
And yeah it kept me warm
It was only for a night
And when the fire went out
Yeah, I took it personal
But it ain’t my fault
The wood’s too wet
And it ain’t no good for me
C: So let that fire burn
Light up every room
Shine so bright they can’t see nothin’ but you
You’re gonna find some bad wood
Along the way
But don’t forget gas and you’ll be okay
Cuz if you let that fire burn,
No one takes it away.
V2: Like a flick of the switch,
I became a nobody
Oughta chop all my hair
And try to be somebody
Or I could stand tall
Give em somethin’ to talk about
Take the high road
Live without any doubt
C: So let that fire burn
Light up every room
Shine so bright they can’t see nothin’ but you
You’re gonna find some bad wood
Along the way
But don’t forget gas and you’ll be okay
Cuz if you let that fire burn,
No one takes it away.
C: So let that fire burn
Light up every room
Shine so bright they can’t see nothin’ but you
You’re gonna find some bad wood

V: You left me on a Sunday
Threw me out of the house
With some clothes and a pack of smokes
On Wednesday
I took my stuff and said good-bye
Oh I just wanted to cry
C: But there were no more fights
No more sleepless nights
No more begging you to stay
I don’t have to cry
Over a could-be good-bye
I have a chance to take a breath
There’s no more feeling low
Since you had to go
And baby I’m free
V2: There once was a dark time
Where you held me down
I lost sight of who I was
Oh you tore me to pieces
B’fore you said good-bye
You thought you ruined me
But that’s when it hit me!
C: There were no more fights
No more sleepless nights
No more begging you to stay
I don’t have to cry
Over a could-be good-bye
I have a chance to take a breath
There’s no more feeling low
Since you had to go
And baby I’m free
B: Oh you know it did hurt at first
Losing your life is hard
But as I pick up myself up and I take my first step
I took a breath and said
SPOKEN:
No more fights
No more sleepless nights
Cuz you know what?
At the end of the day: I’m FREE
C: There were no more fights
No more sleepless nights
No more begging you to stay
I don’t have to cry
Over a could-be good-bye
I have a chance to take a breath
There’s no more feeling low
Since you had to go
There’s no more feeling low
Since you had to go
And baby I’m free
Finally, I’m in control
Baby I’m Free.
V: There’s a boy on my mind and I can’t get enough
Yeah there’s a boy on my mind and I can’t get enough
But this little boy of mine is gonna have to be tough
Well your mama and your daddy had a real fine love
Yeah your mama and your daddy had a real fine love
But your mama had a dream and it got to be too much
C: Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz it’s gonna be a hell of a time
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz your mama’s right by your side
V: Well things will get a little crazy but it’s gonna be alright
Yeah things will get a little crazy but it’s gonna be alright
Cuz we can make it through tomorrow with some love and this 6 string tonight
C: Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz it’s gonna be a hell of a time
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz your mama’s right by your side
C: Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz it’s gonna be a hell of a time
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Hang on there Ryder
Cuz your mama’s right by your side
And it’s gonna be a hell of a time
But I promise it’s gonna be alright
V: When I look into his eyes I can see you
And now and then I think about the times you won’t be there
This little boy has blessed the world
And you’ll never get to know, just how great he is
C: Cuz mama’s gotta learn how to fish
Mama’s gotta work on a truck
And teach him how to throw a spiral
Show him love with any luck
We gotta take it slow and easy
Cuz mama’s teachin him how to be
The man you pretend to be
V2: Well he knows and wants to ask me about you
And I knew it’s gonna happen to me someday
I know he wonders why
You never stopped in to say “hi”
And he’s not alone
C: Cuz mama’s gotta learn how to fish
Mama’s gotta work on a truck
And teach him how to throw a spiral
Show him love with any luck
We gotta take it slow and easy
Cuz mama’s teachin him how to be
The man you pretend to be
C: Cuz mama’s gotta learn how to fish
Mama’s gotta work on a truck

V: I was young, I was dumb, I had eyes on the road
Just wanna be somewhere that I can be heard
A home. A home.
Well you broke me, you choked me, you told me I could
Now that I’m grown up I see how you would
Just use me to throw me away
Yeah you’d use me to throw me away
C: Well I’m not a little girl no more
And you gave me a real good reason to walk out that door
So don’t call me baby
Cuz after all these years I’m not comin’
I’m done runnin’
V2: Hotel rooms and late nights I blamed it on the time
Said if I want to be big I have to pay mine
Oh, I paid mine.
Well the tears and the pot and the powders all failed
Cuz runnin’ away just don’t rewrite the tail, oh no
But I wish that it would
C: Well I’m not a little girl no more
And you gave me a real good reason to walk out that door
So don’t call me baby
Cuz after all these years I’m not comin’
I’m done runnin’
B: Well I could just sit here and look through
His profile pictures but what good would that really do?
So instead I’ll just fly
I’ll see you on the other side
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
I’m done runnin’
Oh – oh -oh
